Gerardo has founded five medical device companies and has advised more than 50 medical technology startups and established companies across Silicon Valley. Throughout his career, he has specialized in identifying unmet clinical needs, transforming breakthrough ideas into protected intellectual property, and leading innovative technologies from concept to commercialization.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Gerardo serves on the advisory boards of Santa Clara University's Department of Bioengineering, the UCSF Catalyst Program, the UCSF Surgical Consortium, and Simon Fraser University's Bioengineering Innovation Boulevard. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Santa Clara University's Graduate School of Bioengineering.
