Andrés Herrero-Yraola (PhD, MBA)

Andrés Herrero is a dynamic entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare and medical device industries. He founded his company, i2medi, ten years ago to help innovative medical device companies gain market access in Latin America. Since then, the company has grown from a consultancy into a full-service medical device and health IT distributor, offering in-house hardware and software support as well as regulatory services. i2medi focuses on cardiology and health IT solutions for hospitals, and the group operates through affiliated companies in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Germany to maintain close relationships with its European clients. Andrés and i2medi have a strong track record of obtaining guideline acceptance from national clinical societies in Latin America for new technological innovations. In doing so, they help pave the way for these technologies to be covered by private and public health insurance.
Andrés also has a proven track record as a senior executive at Biotronik, Abbott, and caresyntax (formerly St. Jude Medical), where he drove business growth, managed key accounts, and oversaw global operations. He is an expert in sales, market access, marketing, and strategic planning, with in-depth knowledge of both the European and Latin American markets. His analytical skills and business acumen are supported by a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and an MBA.
