Greg Simpson Profile Photo

Founder

Greg grew up in suburban Chicago raised by a stay-at-home mom and a dad who traveled for work Monday to Friday. This made Saturdays an elevated event - either a "Wait till your father gets home!" week or one ending with a John Wayne marathon hanging out with dad.
With over 40 years of coding experience, his career spans from cryptography for nuclear missile systems to founding a CRM company, eventually acquired by Oracle.
Since 2018, he's been building EDNA, a startup that believes people should own and control their genetic data. Currently, South American genetic data represents less than 3% of global databases, making it extraordinarily valuable to pharmaceutical companies who acquire it through fine print while paying individuals nothing. EDNA creates a marketplace where people can monetize their own DNA, invest in the DNA of others, and researchers can select with precision the informed consented, followup enabled genomes their research requires – down to molecular precision. The company filed its first patents in March 2025.
